The Law number 9.279/1996, which regulates the rights of industrial/intellectual property in Brazil itself is recent, however brought with it the certainty of legal protection to inventors. It also makes analyses about the performance of the main Brazilian universities with the triangulation of government, research institution and productive sector. Talks about the origin, definition and valuation of the patent, an indispensable document for the development of the Northern Region and the country. And it presents the result of the requests, be it the temporary grant of the letter-patent to that inventor/creator of something really new. Trata dos pedidos de patentes que a Universidade Federal do Pará faz desde 2000 até os dias atuais de 2017, mostra as unidades que mais atuam para buscar inovação tecnológica e ainda indica as áreas do conhecimento que estão relacionadas às pesquisas. A Lei de nº 9.279/1996, que regula os direitos da propriedade industrial/intelectual no Brasil em si é recente, todavia trouxe com ela a certeza da proteção legal aos inventores. Também faz analises sobre a atuação das principais universidades brasileiras com a triangulação de governo, instituição de pesquisa e setor produtivo. Fala da origem, definição e valoração da patente, documento imprescindível para o desenvolvimento da região Norte e do país.
