Isolated dental treatments do not always achieve the expected success, given the lack of motivation of the patient in the treatment engagement, a factor that may be fundamental for the best possible outcome to be achieved. A patient with significant aesthetic changes may not have the necessary participation in the early stages of treatment. Thus, placing the patient in a reasonable aesthetic condition, for example, would motivate him to collaborate and participate more positively in all stages of treatment. In the same way that aesthetics exerts this influence, other factors such as issues related to breath, more pleasant sensation when feeding among others make the patient much more collaborative because he perceives the advantages of general care with oral health. The present paper reports a clinical case that illustrates well these aspects mentioned above. Patient complained of pain in the central incisor, which was in an advanced stage of endodontic compromise. Before starting the endodontic procedures themselves, a significant improvement in aesthetic appearance and in general oral conditions were observed, which motivated the patient greatly, making the treatment easier and more likely to be successful. |
