The objective of this work is to carry out a study of users in the university library of the Rural University of Amazonia.- FRUA This study opted for a study of users of the Lourenço José Tavares Vieira da Silva Library, belonging to the Federal Rural University of Pará-FRUA an exploratory methodology based on the quantitative method. Data were collected through questionnaires with open and closed structured questions applied to users and library librarians. From the field research, it was observed that the reference service of the library exerts a primordial factor for those who seek it, since the dissemination of information creates a link between the user and the librarian, even though there are some problems related to the service. The library is highly sought after. As a result, the paper presents suggestions made by users to improve the performance of activities in the referral service. Thus, it can be seen that the Institution seeks to serve users seeking to satisfy their information needs, but is willing to grow even more in its library services.
