The process of accelerated and disordered urbanization implemented in Brazil has caused a process of degradation of urban space, which immediately affected both major cities and smaller towns. This is characterized by deficient public transportation systems and a sharp increase in the number of cars and motorcycles. Issues related to urban mobility are part of daily life in metropolitan areas. On the other hand, there has been an increase in the number of active transportation users (walking or cycling) for commuting purposes. This study presents an overview of the cycling infrastructure in the municipality of Belém and aims to profile construction industry workers who commute by bicycle, as well as evaluate whether the actions outlined in Belém's Urban Mobility Plan (Plamob) align with the expectations of this sample of users. An online electronic questionnaire (Google Forms) was administered to workers at a construction site located in a peripheral neighborhood 2 of Belém. The research indicated that speed is the most important reason for choosing to use a bicycle, road safety is the main difficulty faced by cyclists, and almost unanimously, the workers consider the integration of bicycles with public transportation as a positive idea.
