Due to the intense use of land on the islands of the municipality of Mocajuba-Pa resulting from strong extractive activity of native lowland cocoa, it is considered important to assess the degree of fertility of these soils. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the chemical and nutritional characteristics (pH in water, Al, H+Al, Ca, Mg, K and P) in three layers (0–10, 10–20 and 20–40 cm) of cocoa soils from the floodplains of Mocajuba-Pa. In each area, soil samples were collected manually. The four floodplain soil profiles studied are acidic, pH <4.3, with high concentrations of exchangeable Al. However, it is possible to observe an average to high fertility of the four floodplain soils studied in relation to the nutrients Ca, Mg and P, and a limitation in the availability of K.
