Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the chemical and nutritional characteristics (pH in water, Al, H+Al, Ca, Mg, K and P) in three layers (0–10, 10–20 and 20–40 cm) of cocoa soils from the floodplains of Mocajuba-Pa. In each area, soil samples were collected manually. The four floodplain soil profiles studied are acidic, pH <4.3, with high concentrations of exchangeable Al. However, it is possible to observe an average to high fertility of the four floodplain soils studied in relation to the nutrients Ca, Mg and P, and a limitation in the availability of K. Devido ao intenso uso do solo existente nas ilhas do município de Mocajuba-Pa decorrente de uma forte atividade extrativista do cacau nativo de várzea, considera-se importante avaliar o grau de fertilidade desses solos. Sendo assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as características químicas e nutricionais (pH em água, Al, H+Al, Ca, Mg, K e P) em três camadas (0–10, 10–20 e 20–40 cm) de solos de cacau de várzeas de Mocajuba-Pa. Em cada área, amostras de solos foram coletadas manualmente. Os quatro perfis de solos de várzeas estudados são ácidos, pH <4,3, com altas concentrações de Al trocável.
