The aim of the work in question was to study the phytochemistry and antioxidant action of the plant's leaves. During the work, different experiments were carried out to understand its phytochemical properties, following pre-established methodologies. Among these experiments, as a basis, firstly, the processing and characterization of the powder of plant material was carried out, with the Granulometric determination of the powder being carried out, where it was possible to see that the Bauhonia blakeanna dunn powder is a coarse powder. Other important experiments were carried out on the plant powder, such as determining the swelling index, moisture content and foreign material in the powder, with results of 1.9Ml/g, 7.9% and 0.9%, respectively. Next, the standardization and characterization of the hydroethanolic extracts from the pulverized plant material was carried out and the chromatographic analyzes carried out using High Efficiency Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) were carried out. At the end of the research, the analyzes carried out helped to understand the phytochemical characteristics of the plant and its possible uses. A planta Bauhinia blakeanna dunn é conhecida mundialmente por ser utilizada como hipoglicemiante, ou seja, a mesma é utilizada para a diminuição de glicose no sangue, atuando contra a doença diabetes. O trabalho em questão teve o objetivo de fazer o estudo fitoquímico e da ação antioxidante das folhas da planta. Durante o trabalho foram realizados diferentes experimentos para o conhecimento de suas propriedades fitoquímicas, seguindo metodologias pré-estabelecidas. Entre esses experimentos, como base, primeiramente foram feitos o processamento e a caracterização do pó do material vegetal com realização de determinação Granulométrica do pó onde foi possível perceber que o pó de Bauhonia blakeanna dunn é um pó grosso. Outros experimentos importantes foram feitos no pó da planta como a determinação de índice de intumescimento, teor de umidade e de material estranho no pó com o resultado de 1,9Ml/g, 7,9% e 0,9%, respectivamente. Em seguida realizou-se a padronização e caracterização dos extratos hidroetanólicos a parti do material vegetal pulverizado e pôr fim a realização das análises cromatográficas feitas através da Cromatografia Líquida de Alta Eficiência (CLAE).
