The objective of this study was to analyze the cohesive aspects by elements of referential resumption in textual productions of the deaf in the essay exam of the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio - ENEM 2013. In this qualitative study, we sought in 03 essays of ENEM 2013, whose theme was “Efeitos da implantação da Lei Seca no Brasil”, applied in a simulation on June 30, 2014 of the Projeto de Extensão Universitária – Oficina de Leitura e Escrita de Português para Surdos - PEU-OLEPS. The results show little use of cohesive mechanics, deviations in writing, few grammatical domains, difficulty in composing the argumentative essay text. However, it is possible to verify that the anaphors present in the newsroom happened through pronouns and similar identities. It concludes the need for a teaching methodology for writing with a focus on Enem Writing given in Libras for the deaf, as a means of including them in socio-communicative activities to continue with the entry into higher education institutions for professionalization.
