This is a qualitative, field-based and descriptive research. A bibliographic survey, theoretical study and discussion of the role of “ledor” and reading for people with visual impairment. As well as were made semi-structured interviews, and the description and analysis of the data collected were used in this study. There were seven participants as subjects of the research, with three lenders and four readers (who are blinds). It is considered that both digital lenders and human lenders are widely used by these users. Analisa a importância do ledor para o acesso de pessoas com deficiência visual à informação, diante da existência dos programas eletrônicos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, de campo e descritiva. Utilizou-se neste estudo o levantamento bibliográfico, estudo e discussão teórica do papel do ledor e do ato de ler para pessoas com deficiência visual, bem como realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas, além da descrição e análise dos dados coletados. Teve sete participantes como sujeitos da pesquisa, sendo três ledores e quatro leitores (os quais apresentam deficiência visual).
