Thus, the general objective was to analyze which ICTs are most used in UFPA and CESUPA libraries. In order to do so, we initially identified the TICs used in the libraries to meet the informational needs of the user, verified the performance of the reference librarian as mediator of the information, using the TICs, as well as the use of TICs in the UFPA and CESUPA libraries. The methodology adopted was bibliographical and field research, for which interviews were applied to UFPA and CESUPA librarians. As a result, it was observed that in the information units surveyed, there is a commitment to ensure that the librarian actively participates in the information age and its technological resources. Thus, it is observed that in libraries of UFPA and CESUPA are implemented technological supports, so that librarians can keep in constant learning, seeking a proactive stance in the cybernetic world of communication. Finally, it is concluded that the ICTs corroborate to meet the information needs of the user, ratifying that, through the use of ICTs, the reference librarian promotes mediation more effectively. Estudo sobre a atuação do bibliotecário no espaço informacional, ante as transformações que as tecnologias da informação e comunicação (TICs) trouxeram ao mundo moderno. Assim, o objetivo geral foi analisar quais as TICs que são mais utilizadas nas bibliotecas da UFPA e do CESUPA. Para isso, inicialmente foram identificadas as TICs utilizadas nas bibliotecas para suprir as necessidades informacionais do usuário, verificada a atuação do bibliotecário de referência como mediador da informação, utilizando As TICs, assim como ocorre o uso das TICs nas bibliotecas da UFPA e do CESUPA. A metodologia adotada foi bibliográfica e pesquisa de campo, para a qual foram aplicadas entrevistas às bibliotecárias da UFPA e CASUPA. Como resultado observou-se que nas unidades de informação pesquisadas, há o comprometimento em assegurar ao bibliotecário que este participe ativamente da era informacional e de seus recursos tecnológicos. Assim, observa-se que nas bibliotecas da UFPA e do CESUPA são implementados suportes tecnológicos, a fim de que os bibliotecários possam manter-se em constante aprendizado, buscando uma postura pró-ativa no mundo cibernético da comunicação.
