This work approaches the painting produced from the composition and sound of the
boi-bumbá tune. The junction of visual, material and sound elements result in artistic
expressions full of objective and subjective meanings, both for the author and for the
observer/reader. The main objective of this study is to investigate how emotion,
perception and creativity are portrayed in painting based on boi-bumbá tunes. The
methodological course is formed by qualitative research, of the descriptive type. Then,
a bibliographic research was carried out, aiming to list the theorists that approach the
theme and field research, having as instruments the non-participant observation and
standardized interview. A tune from the boi-bumbá Garantido and a tune from the boi bumbá Caprichoso were selected, being passed on to the artists-designers, which
served as the basis for the composition of their paintings. The subjects involved in this
study were 2 artist-drawers from Boi Caprichoso, 1 artist-drawer from Boi Garantido
and 2 artist-drawers who are not part of the artistic staff of Bois. The results
demonstrate that the creative process of the designers-artists composed of emotional,
psychological and visual aspects are stimulated in different ways when listening and
feeling the tune. This involves the composition, the poetics and the sound of the tune.
As another artistic element, its musicality manages to instigate the author's
imagination, feelings, emotion and sensitivity when expressing himself through
drawing and painting. Thus, it is concluded that the analyzed paintings carry in their
plans, intentionality, meanings, feelings, artistic references, messages and traits of
their respective authors. They are elements that merge in the work, in a harmonious
movement of pigments, style, techniques and colors, driven by the rhythm of the tune
