The junction of visual, material and sound elements result in artistic expressions full of objective and subjective meanings, both for the author and for the observer/reader. The main objective of this study is to investigate how emotion, perception and creativity are portrayed in painting based on boi-bumbá tunes. The methodological course is formed by qualitative research, of the descriptive type. Then, a bibliographic research was carried out, aiming to list the theorists that approach the theme and field research, having as instruments the non-participant observation and standardized interview. A tune from the boi-bumbá Garantido and a tune from the boi bumbá Caprichoso were selected, being passed on to the artists-designers, which served as the basis for the composition of their paintings. The subjects involved in this study were 2 artist-drawers from Boi Caprichoso, 1 artist-drawer from Boi Garantido and 2 artist-drawers who are not part of the artistic staff of Bois. The results demonstrate that the creative process of the designers-artists composed of emotional, psychological and visual aspects are stimulated in different ways when listening and feeling the tune. This involves the composition, the poetics and the sound of the tune. As another artistic element, its musicality manages to instigate the author's imagination, feelings, emotion and sensitivity when expressing himself through drawing and painting. Thus, it is concluded that the analyzed paintings carry in their plans, intentionality, meanings, feelings, artistic references, messages and traits of their respective authors. They are elements that merge in the work, in a harmonious movement of pigments, style, techniques and colors, driven by the rhythm of the tune and by its cultural and artistic representation of a place, a peop Este trabalho aborda a pintura produzida a partir da composição e sonoridade da toada de boi-bumbá. A junção dos elementos visuais, materiais e sonoros resultam em expressões artísticas cheias de significações objetivas e subjetivas, tanto para o autor, quanto para o observador/leitor. Este estudo tem como principal objetivo: investigar como são retratadas a emoção, percepção e criatividade na pintura a partir das toadas de boi-bumbá. O percurso metodológico é formado por pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo descritiva. Em seguida realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, visando elencar os teóricos que abordam a temática e pesquisa de campo, tendo como instrumentos a observação não participante e entrevista padronizada. Foi selecionada uma toada do boi-bumbá Garantido e uma toada do boi-bumbá Caprichoso, sendo repassadas aos artistas-desenhistas, as quais serviram de base para a composição de suas pinturas. Os sujeitos envolvidos neste estudo foram 2 desenhistas-artistas do Boi Caprichoso, 1 desenhista-artista do Boi Garantido e 2 desenhistas-artistas que não fazem parte do quadro artístico dos Bois. Os resultados demonstram que o processo criativo dos desenhistas-artistas composto por aspectos emocionais, psicológicos e visuais são estimulados de formas diferentes ao ouvir e sentir a toada. Isto envolve a composição, a poética e a sonoridade da toada. Por ser mais um elemento artístico, sua musicalidade consegue instigar a imaginação, os sentimentos, a emoção e a sensibilidade do autor ao se expressar por meio do desenho e da pintura. Assim, conclui-se que as pinturas analisadas carregam em seus planos, intencionalidade, significados, sentimentos, referências artísticas, mensagens e traços de seus respectivos autores.
