This course completion work presents the importance of games and play in Early
Childhood Education, as indispensable for the child's development in all aspects:
physical, psychological, intellectual and social. It aimed to understand which
concepts about games and activities guide the work of teachers at a public day care
center in the south of Manaus. It also aimed to systematize the theoretical
contributions of authors who dedicate themselves to play and games as a research
object, as well as to identify and investigate the conceptions of daycare teachers
regarding the role of play and games in children's education. The research was
based on a qualitative approach, with fieldwork, using a semi-structured interview
with the daycare teachers as a data collection instrument. The results showed that
the daycare teachers understand the relevance of playing in the first stage of Basic
Education as essential for learning skills and for the integral development of the child. |
