The childhood phase is the stage in which the individual is in constant learning, with regard to physical, emotional, cognitive and social aspects. Education is fundamental in this process, playing a social and cognitive role through information and reading. In children's books, editorial design has the function of making reading more understandable, through attractive visual elements in its composition. Considering cultural aspects, it is important that children, in their knowledge process, have contact with culture and establish an interest in knowing more and more about the history of their own city, in order to help in their formation as citizens. Based on this premise, this work consists of the development of an illustrated book aimed at children from seven to nine years old, whose theme is to encourage visits to historical and cultural heritage in the city of Manaus/AM. The project planning began with the objectives, theoretical and methodological foundation, whose methodology was adapted from Bruno Munari (2002) and Guto Lins (2003), and, for illustration development, the methodological processes of Anelise Zimmermann were used (2012). Through the technical procedures adopted, it enabled the generation of an illustrated book as a final product, entitled ‘Manaus to be enchanted’, with authorial text and illustrations presenting regional characteristics. The work obtained a satisfactory result for the contribution of valorization and dissemination of the historical and cultural points of the city of Manaus.
