Introduction: Gestational syphilis is an infection transmitted to the child during pregnancy or childbirth (vertical transmission), transmitted via the placenta, at any time during pregnancy or clinical stage of the disease in untreated or inadequately treated pregnant women, although it is a disease with accessible, effective and efficient treatment, it still has high incidence rates. Objective: In this sense, the study aimed to evaluate the epidemiological profile of cases of gestational syphilis in women in the state of Amazonas. Method: This is a quantitative study, with a descriptive approach, aimed at assessing the epidemiological profile of cases of gestational syphilis in women in the state of Amazonas, from 2017 to 2021. The data was collected by the researchers from April to June 2023, in the Ministry of Health's Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), without individual identification. Information was collected on age group in complete years, race, schooling, gestation period, clinical classification, non-treponemal test in prenatal care, treponemal test in prenatal care, treatment regimen prescribed for the pregnant woman, partner treated concomitantly with the pregnant woman, treatment regimen prescribed for the partner and reason for not treating the partner. Conclusion: The study made it possible to understand the epidemiological profile of gestational syphilis in the state of Amazonas. Prevention is essential, with sex education playing an important role, as it provides more efficient knowledge about contraceptive methods and protection against STIs. More effective programs and better trained professionals are needed, as well as educational campaigns to spread knowledge about syphilis in pregnancy and its consequences.
