Domestic violence in childhood compromises child development by impacting on emotional, psychological, social and school dimensions. This study, based on a qualitative approach and through a bibliographic review of books and articles by authors who discuss the subject, investigates the effects of domestic violence in childhood, and its impact on children's behavior, mental health and school performance. The findings show that neglect and abuse reinforce cycles of vulnerability, while the school environment, although potentially welcoming, often reflects the adversities experienced in the family context. As a result of the research, the aim is to highlight the impact of violence on children's development and learning, and to present possible pedagogical strategies that guarantee child protection. |
