For that, we started from experiences of reading classes of narrative texts developed from mental maps with elementary school students. In order to develop this study, we pursue the following objectives: the general objective is to discuss the application of active methodologies in interface with reading, in order to seek changes to the fruitful and innovative pedagogical practice, followed by specific objectives, based on what follows : seek the solution of a collective issue, which is the use of an innovative methodology, to work with reading and interpreting texts; observe what has been happening in terms of applying methodologies, giving the respondents' perception of the reality of their own classroom; check that the active methodologies contribute to a good interpretation of the readings performed; seek information on reading, its importance and specifications, aiming to create a culture of reading in the group involved with the research; experiencing a reading wheel using a literary narrative, emphasizing the elements that compose it in the narrative sequence and interpreting the narrated story through a mental map. In this context, the execution of a project requires an answer, resulting in the following question: will the result of this action research, make it possible to advance the student's knowledge and development with the use of active methodology? Does the teacher have a methodological update, aiming at more productive results in the execution of his work with active methodologies? Faced with the hypothesis, in view of the difficulties related to the teaching and learning process, working with active methodologies, aiming to make the student protagonist by the search for knowledge, consists of a proficient strategy, with regard to an effective and reading practice. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo apresentar o desenvolvimento de aulas de leitura na perspectiva de metodologias ativas. Para isso, partimos de vivências de aulas de leitura de textos narrativos desenvolvidas com base em mapas mentais com alunos do Ensino Fundamental. Para desenvolvermos este estudo, perseguimos os seguintes objetivos: o objetivo é discutir sobre a aplicação de metodologias ativas em interface com a leitura, com o intuito de buscar mudanças para a prática pedagógica profícua e inovadora, seguido pelos objetivos específicos, alicerçados no que segue: buscar a solução de uma questão coletiva, que é a utilização de uma metodologia inovadora, para trabalhar com leitura e interpretação de textos; observar o que vem acontecendo como a aplicação de metodologias, conferindo a percepção dos pesquisados, sobre a realidade de sua própria sala de aula; conferir que as metodologias ativas contribuem para uma boa interpretação das leituras realizadas; buscar informações sobre leitura, sua importância e especificações, objetivando criar uma cultura da leitura no grupo envolvido com a pesquisa; vivenciar uma roda de leitura utilizando uma narrativa literária, ressaltando na sequência narrativa os elementos que a compõe e interpretando por meio de um mapa mental a história narrada. Neste contexto, a execução de um projeto exige uma resposta, resultando na seguinte indagação: o resultado desta pesquisa-ação, possibilitará o avanço de conhecimentos e desenvolvimento do aluno com o uso de metodologia ativa? O docente possui atualização metodológica, visando resultados mais produtivos na execução do seu trabalho com metodologias ativas?
