We use as the main theoretical-methodological contribution the language dialogical perspective of Mikhail Bakhtin and his circle, once that in this way it is possible to explain the verbal and the visual articulated “in a structured material expression” (BAKHTIN/VOLOCHINOV, 2002, p. 118). The work is characterized as a descriptiveinterpretive research that follows a qualitative approach. The questions presented in the proposals of reading activities can be applied in English language classes with students in the 6th year of elementary school. The questions are not ready and finished in themselves, but can be implemented according to the needs of the context of use. Situado na perspectiva interdisciplinar da Linguística Aplicada, neste trabalho temos como objetivo de pesquisa elaborar propostas de atividades de leitura com a HQ Maggy in: the cicada and the ant, de Maurício de Sousa Produções para aulas de língua inglesa, no contexto da educação básica. Utilizamos como principal aporte teórico-metodológico a perspectiva dialógica da linguagem de Mikhail Bakhtin e seu Círculo, tendo em vista que neste viés é possível explicar o verbal e o visual articulados “numa expressão material estruturada” (BAKHTIN/VOLOCHINOV, 2002, p. 118). O trabalho se caracteriza como uma pesquisa descritivo-interpretativa que segue abordagem qualitativa. As questões apresentadas em propostas de atividades de leitura poderão ser aplicadas em aulas de língua inglesa com estudantes no 6.º ano do Ensino Fundamental.
