This research presents as its central theme the relevance of the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships - PIBID/CAPES, in the initial education of Geography teachers, it has as general goal to present the contributions of the referred Program to the training of teachers at the Federal University of Tocantins – UFT, in the Geography course at the Porto Nacional Campus. The specific objectives of this paper were: identify the challenges of PIBID, above all, pointing out the points to be improved in the program, and also, present the perspective of ex-pibidian scholarship holders from 2018 to 2019, regarding to the impact of the project on their profession- al training. The present paper brings an approach about the ludic workshops developed by the geography PIBID scholarship holders, Porto Nacional campus, with the students of the basic edu- cation. As for the methodology, this is an exploratory research with a qualitative approach. The data survey was conducted by a questionnaire, with a sample of 18 former Geography Pibidian students, out of the total of 24 academics who participated in the PIBID in the period from 2018 to 2019. Also, for the theoretical construction of the research, bibliographic researches were done. The survey results showed that the PIBID impacted the participants' education in several aspects: social, academic and professional.
