Resumo:
This course conclusion work (TCC) is a reflection on the notion of Peasant Art present in Portinari's works and its main objective is to analyze the chosen works which are: Retirantes (1944), Café (1935), Lavrador de Café (1934) ) and Mestiço (1935). To this end, I did a bibliographic search in order to formulate the research problem on what may be “Peasant Art”, follow the schedule, as organizing the study time is important in formulating the bibliographic research problem, without forgetting of data collection, because it is through it that we have managed to organize the study material necessary for the analysis, using an objective, clear and understandable language. To arrive at this concept, I first studied the concepts of art and peasant culture. After choosing these five works by Cândido Portinari, I carried out their analysis. Researching this painter motivated me a lot to not give up and move on with my research, as I was dazzled by the concern that Portinari had with the working class, less favored, and how he emphasized the artistic characteristics of Afro-Brazilian. The result of this study involved readings on the topic. Finally, it was necessary to analyze the four selected works by Portinari through documentary research. In view of the research developed, I realized that the analyzed works can be considered Peasant Art.
