The research problem was: How can the knowledge and practices of boatmen be thought of as heritage in the city of Tocantinópolis? The general objective was to understand the knowledge and practices of boatmen as assets in Tocantinópolis. The specific objectives were: To identify the knowledge and practices through orality/life history of the boatmen; Report the boatmen's relationship with their profession and their object of work; Discuss how to make boats and their nomenclatures; Describe the characteristics of cultural practices, from the perspective of religious tradition. Heritage, memory, identity and orality are concepts worked on in the development of writing. The methodology used was ethnographic, a detailed description of the field in which it provided oral interviews and photographs to be presented, with a theoretical basis from the Social Sciences, the preservation of intangible and material heritage is important for documenting the city's history from the perspective of the boatmen. The results obtained from carrying out the research demonstrate that material and immaterial heritage are the basis for understanding the work practice of boatmen and, consequently, the process of exchanging knowledge and its representations with know-how, making the identity of this group perceptible. Therefore, when we talk about boatmen, their knowledge and practices, we see how a group of people with the same profession are responsible for part of the construction of the cultural and historical identity of the place. In the first chapter, we have the introduction with the presentation of the research problem, objectives and methodology. For the third chapter, entitled Cultural Practices in Bico do Papagaio – Tocantins, we will describe cultural practices through religious tradition, Este trabalho, é resultado de uma abordagem antropológica sobre os barqueiros da cidade de Tocantinópolis-TO, uma contribuição na área de patrimônio na região Tocantina. O problema da pesquisa foi: De que forma os saberes e fazeres dos barqueiros podem ser pensados como patrimônios na cidade de Tocantinópolis?. O objetivo geral foi compreender os saberes e fazeres dos barqueiros como patrimônios em Tocantinópolis. Os objetivos específicos foram: Identificar os saberes e fazeres pela oralidade/história de vida dos barqueiros; Relatar a relação dos barqueiros com sua profissão e o seu objeto de trabalho; Discorrer o modo de fazer os barcos e suas nomenclaturas; Descrever as características das práticas culturais, numa ótica da tradição religiosa. Patrimônio, memória, identidade e oralidade são conceitos trabalhados no desenvolvimento da escrita. A metodologia usada foi a etnográfica, uma descrição detalhada do campo a qual proporcionou apresentar as entrevistas orais e as fotografias, com embasamento teórico das Ciências Sociais. A preservação do patrimônio imaterial e material é importante para a documentação da história da cidade na perspectiva dos barqueiros. Os resultados obtidos com a realização da pesquisa demonstram que os patrimônios material e imaterial são base para a compreensão da prática do trabalho dos barqueiros e, consequentemente, para o processo de trocas de saberes e suas representações do saber-fazer, tornando a identidade deste grupo perceptível. Portanto, quando falamos dos barqueiros, seus saberes e fazeres, percebemos como um grupo de pessoas com a mesma profissão que é responsável por parte da construção da identidade cultural e histórica do local. O primeiro capítulo é a introdução com a apresentação do problema de pesquisa, objetivos e metodologia. No segundo capítulo com título Patrimônios: os saberes e fazeres dos barqueiros trata-se da identificação dos saberes e fazeres pela oralidade/história de vida dos barqueiros.
