Resumo:
The research work presented aims to reflect on active methodologies for teaching Geography, taking into account the technological changes that are happening in the world, especially due to the new Corona Virus pandemic, which began in 2020 and which is still continues to date (June 2, 2022), which has imposed remote teaching in Education on the world. And also the need to have a teaching method that keeps up with these changes. It was designed based on the experience gained in the classroom during the Geography degree training course at the Federal University of Tocantins, on the Porto Nacional campus, and also in the practical activities of the course's internship subjects, in which it was possible to observe the difficulty of Geography teachers in making classes more interesting to attract students' attention. Active methodologies aim to insert the student as the main subject of learning, committing to their learning at all stages, through individual or collective studies and are excellent tools to help with learning by placing the student as the protagonist of their knowledge. The research methodology was based on reading different sources: such as books and websites for theoretical construction and we also sought to find out from some Basic Education teachers in Porto Nacional, about active methodologies. All teachers who responded to the questionnaire agree that active methodologies are important for teaching and learning. They all stated that they use active methods in their classes and the results have been positive
