This paper proposes a discussion about education and human rights, reaching a non- abstract character and effectively being part of the daily life of every citizen. Although the National Education Guidelines Act generally orients education towards citizenship and the National Curriculum Parameters cover broader propositions, the theme is still very discursive and conceptual. A possible approach would be teaching fundamental rights as a specific discipline in the High School, and how they are essentially presented in the constitutional legislation. It would also include the incidence of these rights in international law would also be learned, so that their compliance can be demanded by the subjects of rights within the legal provisions. It is understood that the instrumentalization of citizens in this sense may provide a re-signification in the existence of social subjects and that the exercise of rights leaves the plane of political speeches for an effective realization. A qualitative bibliographical research will be used for the study. |
