This work had as objective to know and to analyze how the Human Rights Education is being worked in the classes from the 1st to the 5th year of Elementary Education of the Municipal Center of Basic Education Profª Lívia Lorene Bueno Maia from the point of view of teachers, pedagogical coordinators and school director. It was used as instrument of data collection interview involving 01 school director; 01 pedagogical coordinator and 05 teachers from the 1st to 5th year of elementary school. The research was based on authors such as: Vivaldo (2009); Dallari, (2002); Small (2001); Brito (2007), among others, besides documents such as LDB 9394/96 and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, discuss the subject in question. The paper is organized as follows: the introduction presents a quick overview of the theme; the first section addresses a brief history of Human Rights Education in Brazil. The second section discusses the contributions of human rights education in the educational context. The third section emphasizes the methodological guidelines for conducting this research. The fourth section presents the research findings and in the fifth and last section the final considerations are presented. The study showed that the school unit studied works with human rights education, however, there is still a need for the school community to reflect on the importance of the subject for the integral formation of the student and thus to review the curriculum and insert in the Political Project Pedagogical actions that may favor the strengthening and dissemination of this extremely important theme.
