Thus, we have as objectives: to analyze the functioning of collective transportation in the city of Santarém and the difficulties faced by the inhabitants of the Mapiri neighborhood in their daily commute, to know the municipal public policies aimed at attending the population of collective transportation users in Santarém, to identify the routes and routes of the bus lines that serve the population of the neighborhood of Mapiri and know the level of satisfaction of users of public transport in the neighborhood of Mapiri. The methodology consists of bibliographic review and documentary research in the institutions that are responsible for collective transportation in the city and semi-structured interviews with leaders of the neighborhood of Mapiri and users of collective transportation. Thus, to know the characteristics of the profile of the Urban Urban Transportation System that serves the Mapiri neighborhood is of fundamental importance, aiming to diagnose their needs and suggesting measures and proposals for a better quality of life for the population of this neighborhood that is the object of study of this work. Os meios de transporte coletivo são componentes importantes para o crescimento e desenvolvimento das sociedades, sobretudo, quando esse transporte é acessível e adequado à todas as pessoas. Dessa forma, temos como objetivos : analisar o funcionamento do transporte coletivo na cidade de Santarém e as dificuldades enfrentadas pelos moradores do bairro do Mapiri em seu deslocamento diário, conhecer as políticas públicas municipais voltadas ao atendimento da população usuária do transporte coletivo em Santarém, identificar as rotas e percursos das linhas de ônibus que atendem as populações do bairro do Mapiri e conhecer o nível de satisfação dos usuários do transporte coletivo no bairro do Mapiri. A metodologia constitui-se de revisão bibliográfica e pesquisa documental nas instituições que são responsáveis pelo transporte coletivo na cidade e entrevistas semi estruturadas com lideranças do bairro do Mapiri e usuários do transporte coletivo.
