As an alternative to its preservation, the proposal for site valuation actions has been discussed. In this context, this work aims to reflect on communication in digital social media, as a privileged space for the communication, preservation and dissemination of the memory of this archaeological site. O sítio arqueológico Engenho Jaguarari (tombamento PA-BA-075), localizado à margem direita do Rio Moju junto à ponte Moju-Alça, à 28 km de Belém-PA, foi impactado pelo projeto Alça-Viária em 2001, cujas obras atingiram o contexto dos vestígios das antigas construções, que devido sua frágil estrutura encontram-se em contínuo processo de degradação e negligenciadas pelo poder público. Como uma alternativa à sua preservação, tem-se discutido a proposta de ações de valoração do sítio.
