There is a growing appreciation of bicycle transport to promote good urban mobility, being encouraged as a way to reduce the number of motor vehicles, especially individuals. For this, the bicycle structures have been designed to organize the streets and provide safety to the cyclist. However, in Belém there is a lack of cycling infrastructure in several neighborhoods and that most of the bike lanes and cycle lanes
are present only on main streets in the city, causing an absence of connection with peripheral neighborhoods. For this reason, the work intends to propose a cycle lane project for the main streets in Guamá, the neighborhood that is in the situation of isolation from the existing cycle structures and that has a large traffic of cyclists. For this purpose, data were collected on the width of the neighborhood’s streets and the dynamics of the neighborhood, as points that generate traffic and possible interference,
as a way of studying the insertion of the cycle lane in the place. The work found the most viable routes for the implementation of the cycle lane to Av. José Bonifácio, on the right side of the road, direction the Guamá neighborhood, and to R. Barão de Igarapé Miri, on the left side of the road, direction UFPA, by suppressing the parking lane and narrowing the traffic lanes to meet recommended widths for cycle lanes. |
