Bibliotherapy is a therapeutic practice that uses reading as a means of providing the patient-reader with the possibility of treating a psychic or emotional illness. This article aims to report a bibliotherapy experience conducted with the elderly. The research has a qualitative approach of an applied nature and the method used was action research. The study was carried out with the elderly who live in a nursing home in the Metropolitan Region of Belém/PA, through direct observation. During the
bibliotherapy sessions it was observed that vision difficulties were a common problem for the participants. Thus, adaptations were made so that everyone could participate in the library activity. In the end, the nursing home team noted an improvement in the coexistence and socialization of the elderly due to the library activity. |
