This research fits in as a user study conducted in a university library. The question that guides the research consists in the following proposition: The students library users have met their information needs, and their ethnic and cultural particularities considered the services offered there? The general objective was defined: check the use and satisfaction of users of the Sectorial Library of the Campus of the Institute for Nature and Culture Benjamin Constant as the services offered. Specific objectives include: a) identify the profile of users of the Library's Nature Institute and Campus Culture of Benjamin Constant; b) describe the use of the library by students of the different courses offered at the Campus Benjamin Constant; c) identify the satisfaction of library users about the services offered; d) to analyze the differences in usage and user satisfaction about the library services, considering their cultural and ethnic differences. The research is classified as exploratory and descriptive, presenting a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) in which the sample is composed of 137 students coming from six different undergraduate courses. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 24 open and closed questions that address the socio-cultural user profile and library usage behavior and its services. It was found the need to modernize the library, in feeling, to provide consistent services with other libraries of federal higher education institutions. In the speech of students, it is the indication and suggestion of the library is computerized and spend the available research processes, renewals, reservations and access via the Internet, as well as investing in the acquisition of assets and equipment such as computers for local use. It was not clear, compared to the survey results, the ethnicity of the students contributes or not to your satisfaction about the services offered in the unit. Os “estudos de usuários” fazem parte de uma discussão tradicional na área da biblioteconomia, pois representam uma ferramenta que contribui na gestão das bibliotecas e permite conhecer as necessidades informacionais dos usuários. Esta pesquisa encaixa-se como um estudo de usuários desenvolvido em uma biblioteca universitária. A pergunta que norteia a pesquisa consiste na seguinte proposição: Os usuários discentes da biblioteca têm suas necessidades informacionais atendidas, sendo suas particularidades étnicas e culturais consideradas nos serviços ali oferecidos? Como objetivo geral, definiu-se: verificar o uso e a satisfação dos usuários da Biblioteca Setorial do Instituto de Natureza e Cultura do Campus Benjamin Constant quanto aos serviços oferecidos. Os objetivos específicos, abrangem: a) Identificar o perfil dos usuários da Biblioteca do Instituto de Natureza e Cultura do Campus Benjamin Constant; b) descrever o uso da biblioteca pelos alunos dos diferentes cursos oferecidos no Campus de Benjamin Constant; c) identificar a satisfação dos usuários da biblioteca quanto aos serviços oferecidos; d) analisar as diferenças de uso e satisfação dos usuários quanto aos serviços da biblioteca, considerando suas diferenças culturais e étnicas. A pesquisa classifica-se como exploratória e descritiva, apresentando uma abordagem mista (quali-quantitativa) no qual a amostra estudada é composta por 137 alunos de graduação oriundos de seis diferentes cursos. O instrumento de coleta de dados utilizado foi um questionário, formado por 24 questões abertas e fechadas que abordam o perfil sociocultural do usuário e o comportamento de uso da biblioteca e seus serviços. Constatou-se a necessidade da biblioteca se modernizar, no sentindo de oferecer serviços condizentes com outras bibliotecas de instituições de ensino superior federal. No discurso dos alunos, fica a indicação e sugestão da biblioteca se informatizar e passar a disponibilizar processos de pesquisa, renovações, reservas e acessos por meio da Internet, além de investir na aquisição de acervo e de equipamentos, como computadores de uso local.
