Discusses the relationship of UX Design methods applied in Reference Services activities. with the general objective of verifying the applicability of UX Design in reference service activities in university libraries, aiming at the improvement and innovations in user service; and specifics of: describing the activities developed in the reference service, specifically in user service, in university libraries; Characterize UX Design in the service services of university libraries; and assess opportunities for improvement and innovation in library services. It considers that UX Design is responsible for the development of products and services that meet the specific needs of users. It assumes university libraries as a research universe and adopts as a sample a state public university library system, located in the city of Manaus, which has five sectorial libraries whose librarians are responsible for the reference service sector in the information unit. This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory approach research whose technical procedures adopted were: bibliographic research and a case study. It points out as a result the level of satisfaction of the activities developed by the libraries correlated with the users' needs. It also emphasizes that professional librarians must, in fact, carry out their activities in order to be perceived as agents and informational disseminators, not a mere carrier of information. It suggests that more in-depth studies of this UX Design methodology are carried out to help librarian professionals to seek, analyze and understand the users' concerns, in order to serve as a facilitating instrument between the informational unit and its audience. |
