Regarding the teaching of mathematics, the use of augmented reality accessed
through a mobile device presents itself as a rich source of studies related to the
teaching of geometry. Thus, this work aims to use an augmented reality application called "Solids RA" as a tool to assist in 3D geometric visualization. Therefore, this work focuses in demonstrate that the use of a technological tool can significantly contribute to the teaching and learning process of high school students. To carry out the work, a lesson plan was developed with a set of activities for teaching geometry that aimed to increase students' visualization and understanding skills using the application. The activities were applied in a 1st-year high school class at a public school in Manaus-AM. To validate the results of the research, a qualitative approach was used, with observation of the students during the activities, analysis of students' responses to the proposed activities, analysis of students' creations in the application, and interviews. The data obtained indicate that the activities carried out using augmented reality through the Solids RA application positively contributed to the development of students' visualization skills. Thus, this work concludes that Solids AR can be used as a support tool for the development of dynamic and attractive class scripts that involve concepts of geometric visualization. |
