To start, readings were made referring to the history of geography in Brazil, pointing out: the object of study of this science, its arrival in Brazilian territory, its subsistence during the period of the Brazilian military regime and its institutionalization as a school and higher education subject. Then, in order to qualify the research, information was collected about the legislation that legitimizes and establishes criteria for carrying out the internship as an educational tool for professional training in the workplace. Finally, expressive information was collected to carry out the practical experience of the internship, information present in the internship reports of the author of the work. The result of the work was positive, as through research it was possible to elucidate the clear importance of building the affective bond established between the intern and the granting unit and the positive impact of the experience, under his perception as a future professional in the area of education. The treatment category is a case study, as it has advantages and disadvantages that can occur during the internship experience A pesquisa elaborada como trabalho de conclusão de curso trata da experiência dos estágios obrigatórios como elemento formador de um estudante-estagiário e tem como objetivo principal analisar a experiência do estagiário no ambiente escolar e descrever a influência dessa experiência em seu processo de formação como futuro professor de geografia. Para dar início ao trabalho foram realizadas leituras referentes a história da geografia no Brasil, pontuando: o objeto de estudo dessa ciência, a sua chegada ao território brasileiro, a sua (sobre)vivência no período do regime militar brasileiro e sua institucionalização como disciplina escolar e curso superior. Em seguida para qualificar a pesquisa foi realizado o levantamento de informações a respeito da legislação que legitima e estabelece critérios para a realização do estágio como ferramenta educativa de formação profissional no ambiente de trabalho. E por fim foi realizada a coleta de informações expressivas para a realização da experiência prática do estágio, informações essas presentes nos relatórios de estágio do autor do trabalho. O resultado do trabalho foi positivo, pois através da pesquisa foi possível elucidar a nítida importância da construção do vínculo afetivo estabelecido entre o estagiário e a unidade concedente e o impacto positivo da experiência, sob sua percepção como um futuro profissional da área da educação.
