Resumo:
The study aimed to verify the importance that is given to physical education in schools, in elementary school from 1st to 4th series, since this discipline is not included in this level of education. Therefore, there is also the figure of the Physical Education teacher, contributing need for the physical, cognitive and socio-emotional child and teenager, currently being mediated by school teachers in the class. The choice of topic was given by the significant importance of this discipline in the development of human beings, especially in children 7-10 years who are in the process of discovery and learning, moreover, the proper practice of a playful activity and recreational provide students various skills and behaviors. We surveyed 7 (seven) teachers in a state school in the city of Macapá. The approach was qualitative, followed by observation and data collection using instruments such as a diary and a semi-structured questionnaire. From the analysis of data, the teacher (s) listed several elements of non-completion of classes of recreation including the lack of space and lack of preparation of teachers. Observers that most school teachers do not feel prepared to work with this discipline, so the need for qualified teachers who can mediate this type of teaching effectively in order to contribute to the overall development of students. There is also the search for training courses in the recreation area, to assist the teaching practice of these teachers, because, they feel unprepared to work with this mode of teaching. It was noted also the absence of Educational Policy Project (P.P.P) searched the school, which is of great importance, therefore, is what characterizes the identity of a school, which will be built from the life experiences of all school community. It is necessary that every school has its P. P. P, upgraded, in order to characterize the local reality, its limitations, its possibilities and to identify the image building while its role in the community that is inserted. Therefore there is need for public policies that include the physical education teacher in the school environment, from 1st to 4th series in the city of Macapá, contributing to the overall development of students and society.
