Roemer & Schultes, I. goyazensis Gardner, I. pes-caprae (L.) R. Brow and I. stolonifera (Cyrili) Gmelin. We used material collected on the islands of Maiandeua and Algodoal and specimens from the MPEG herbarium. Morphological observations were made using a ZEISS stereomicroscope with a clear camera. The nomenclature used to indicate the shape and indentation of morphological structures was based on the works of LAWREN CE (1973) and RIZINNI (1977). I. asarifolia is a reptile herb, with latescent stem, cordate leaves, lilac to purple corona. I. goyazensis is a vine that grows on shrubs, with cordate to slightly oval leaves, crimson-red corolla. I. pes-caprae is a latescent stem herb with obcordiform to oval leaves, emarginate apex, rarely aculeate, slightly fleshy, lilac to purple corolla. I. stolonifera is a reptile herb with linear, lanceolate or rarely oblong leaves, slightly emarginate apex, white corolla. Some characteristics of leaf anatomy are being studied in order to help in the separation of the species (CNPq/Museu Goeldi). Nas restingas das ilhas de Algodoal e Maiandeua a família Convolvulaceae Juss. está representada pelo gênero Ipomoea L. através das espécies I. asarifolia (Desr.) Roemer & Schultes, I. goyazensis Gardner, I. pes-caprae (L.) R. Brow e I. stolonifera (Cyrili) Gmelin. Para execução deste trabalho utilizou-se material coletado nas ilhas de Maiandeua e Algodoal e exemplares do herbário do MPEG. As observações morfológicas foram realizadas em estereomicroscópio ZEISS acoplado a câmara clara. A nomenclatura adotada para indicar a forma e indumento das estruturas morfológicas, foi baseada nos trabalhos de LAWREN CE (1973) e RIZINNI (1977). I. asarifolia é uma erva reptante, com caule latescente, folhas cordiformes, coroIa lilás a púrpura. I. goyazensis é um cipó que cresce sobre arbustos, apresentando folhas cordiformes a ligeiramente ovais, corola vermelho carmim. I. pes-caprae é uma erva de caule latescente com folhas obcordiformes a ovais, ápice emarginado, raro aculeado, ligeiramente carnosas, corola lilás a púrpura. I. stolonifera é uma erva reptante com folhas lineares, lanceoladas ou raramente oblongas, ápice levemente emarginado, corola branca.
