For this question we aim to seek methodological strategies that help teachers and students in the operationalization of basic operations. For which it was necessary to know some didactic methods for teaching and learning the four basic operations of mathematics. Thus, a survey was conducted with 48 students from a school of the state education network of the city of Castanhal / PA, where were interviewed 24 students of 7th grade and 24 students of the 1st grade, each student answered 12 questions. multiple choice and four questions with mathematical resolutions, each of which referred to a basic operation. The data collected in the research show that the greatest difficulty of students in mathematical content is the lack of mastery of basic operations, especially the division. Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) foi produzido a partir de uma pesquisa de campo de abordagem qualitativa, motivado pela indagação: De que maneira o professor pode viabilizar o ensino e aprendizagem das operações básicas para a compreensão dos estudantes? Para esta indagação objetivamos buscar estratégias metodológicas que auxiliem professores e alunos na operacionalização das operações básicas. Para o qual fez-se necessário conhecer alguns métodos didáticos para o ensino e aprendizagem das quatro operações básicas da Matemática. Assim, foi realizada uma pesquisa com 48 alunos de uma escola da rede estadual de educação do município de Castanhal/PA, onde foram entrevistados 24 alunos do 7º ano do ensino fundamental e 24 alunos do 1º ano do ensino médio, cada aluno respondeu 12 perguntas de múltiplas escolhas e quatro perguntas com resoluções matemáticas, na qual cada uma era referente a uma operação básica.
