Through claims and affirmative action policies, more and more indigenous peoples have entered higher education. As part of this process, this research intended to investigate and understand the reasons for the permanence of indigenous people in the Graduate Programs of the Federal University of Amazonas. For this, 7 interviews were carried out with indigenous students and with the secretariats of the postgraduate programs to which they belong, following all ethical procedures, with subsequent transcription and content analysis according to Bardin. The results indicate the complexity and difficulty of being an indigenous university student, the need for changes in academic structures and programs. It is necessary to understand, record and understand each reality in order to carry out timely and effective actions. |
